2025 Young Actors Workshop: Beetlejuice Jr.!

 WHO & WHAT 

• Open to aspiring actors aged 7 to 13, The Portland Players Young Actors Workshop (YAW) is a 13-week workshop designed for students with a passion for the arts and eager to learn about the ins and outs of musical theater.  From staging to costumes, auditioning strategies to choreography, whether their preference is onstage or behind the scenes, all participants will have their chance to be a star! The culmination of which are two public performances. 2025 production: Beetlejuice, Jr.!

  • About Beetlejuice Jr. : ​Lydia Deetz is a strange and unusual teenager, still grieving the loss of her mother and obsessed with the whole “being dead thing.” Lucky for Lydia, she and her father move to a new house haunted by a recently deceased couple and Beetlejuice, a delightful demon with a real zest for life. When Lydia calls on Beetlejuice to scare away anyone with a pulse, this double-crossing specter shows his true stripes, unleashing a (Nether)world of pandemonium.

WHEN 

• Workshops: Saturdays, January 11, 2024 through April 12, 2025; 10am-1pm 

  • No workshops on February 15 or 22

• Additional Rehearsals: Wednesday, April 9 and 11; 6:00pm-8:30pm

• Performances: April 12; 2:00pm and 6:00pm

• Last day to register: January 6

HOW

• Registration:

  • As of November 19, registration has reached capacity and is now closed. Email GigiTheater@outlook.com to be added to the waitlist!​

  • ​Fee per registration: $200, which includes snacks for each workshop day.

    • Payment is processed via a secure Stripe processing, and must be received to complete your registration. ​

    • If you are registering more than 1 student, separate registration and payment will be needed.
